You Want to Lose Weight?

There was a time when the only potential clients that would come to me were people who wanted to lose weight. I use to find this extremely frustrating considering my lofty desire to heal everyone that spoke to me. It took me a while to realize that weight loss would be a byproduct of getting them healthy.

The hardest part is understanding that patience in the process is necessary. Could I write them the perfect diet that would allow them to lose weight? Probably for most, but this again is just treating the symptom and would that diet work forever?

There’s so many things that can be functioning less than optimally causing a person to gain weight. Often I see people who have had truly SAD (Standard American Diet) for so long that it’s created a huge amount of dysfunction that has caused weight gain.

No matter what, we always start with diet. We remove any of the possible food intolerance and get blood sugar regulated with regular meals. This does so many things for the body like improving sleep, allowing the body to become a fat burner and the beginning steps of detoxification. I will usually see my clients lose about 10% of the weight desired with this simple change.

As the inflammation comes down, the body becomes ready to heal. Pay attention. Listen to your body. Listen to your gut intuition about what the next step is. As you get in tune with your body, you will know what the next area of focus will be. If you need guidance, find a holistic nutritionist to work with.

Above all, be patient and consistent. You didn’t create the weight in a month and you probably won’t lose it in a month.

Much love,

Cara
